Overhead EV Charger Cable Management System

For EV depots and commercial fleet charging sites, unmanaged charging cables lead to:

  • Excessive strain on DC fast charging cables
  • Unsafe cable routing across drive lanes
  • Accelerated connector and charging cable wear
  • Poor ergonomics for drivers and operators

BESSUN’s overhead EV charger cable management systems are engineered to keep charging cables suspended, controlled, and optimally positioned—improving safety, uptime, and operational efficiency.

Typical EV Depot Applications

  • Bus and truck charging depots
  • Logistics and distribution centers
  • Taxi and ride-hailing fleet hubs
  • Municipal and utility EV depots

Cable Management Solutions for Existing Charging Stations

When discussing cable management systems, attention is often given to newly designed charging stations, where cable management system is integrated from the early design stage.

However, for already installed charging stations, cable management system is frequently neglected. This is usually due to two main concerns: cost control and the perceived complexity of retrofit design and installation.

At BESSUN, as a professional supplier of EV charging cable management solutions, we believe this is a missed opportunity. Based on real-world projects, retrofitting cable management system is both feasible and highly effective. A well-designed retrofit solution can significantly improve operational safety, user convenience, and the overall charging experience, while also helping to reduce cable wear and long-term maintenance costs.

Below are selected real retrofit projects supported by BESSUN, demonstrating how existing EV chargers can be efficiently upgraded with practical and reliable cable management solutions—without the need for complete station replacement.

FAQ

What is your initial tension force ?

BSM-CRA: max. 30N

BSM-CRB: max. 65N

BSM-CRC: max. 125N

BSM-CRD: max. 200N

BSM-CRE: max. 120N

Endurance at room temperature

Q: What is the endurance requirement at room temperature?
A: 100,000 cycles without malfunction.

Q: What was the result?
A: After 100,000 cycles: no deformation, unit functions well.

No MOQ. The sample lead time is 10 ~ 12 days.

To ensure we provide the best possible solution, it would be great to receive the following information:

  • Cable Length
  • Cable Diameter
  • Total Cable Weight

Sorry. The answer is NO because we need to use different springs.  For example, type C(BSM-CRC), the 65 ~ 80 N and 80 ~ 100 N are using different spring.

Yes. You also can adjust it in your factory. We have recorded a video of how to adjust the force in English already. However, it is better that we adjust the force in China before shipment.

Whether a cable retractor for an EV charging station should have a lock or be without a lock depends on how and where the station will be used. Our recommendation (based on typical use‑case):

  • For public / shared / commercial EV charging stations → retractor with lock is generally better.  However, some CPO perfer without lock.

  • For private garages, home chargers, or low‑risk environments → a simpler retractor (without lock) could be acceptable.

Please provide your cable diameter when sending an inquiry. The cable clamp is not universal—different DC charging cables require different cable clamps/cable holder.

Not the same. Please see the 3D drawings.

Yes. We offer different type of cable clamps/holders for EV charging cables.

Yes. We can change it to fit your charging station. However, the size of the cable retractor balancer is fixed.

Yes. We have stainless steel rope option. However, we suggest to use UPE rope because it has better wear resistance.

No. The reason is that, with current technology, constant-force designs do not provide a long service life.

Yes, you can. For how to adjust the tension of BSM-CRA, CRB and CRD, please refer to this video.

  • Cable Retractors: Pull the cable back to its starting position when released.

  • Cable Balancers: Hold the cable at its current position when released.
